Our Journey
The Fight We Never Expected,
And the Hope We're Holding Onto.

The Diagnosis - When Everything Changed
Just before Christmas in 2022, our world flipped upside down. Alex was 33, healthy, and getting ready to welcome his second child with Allyson. That’s when we were blindsided with the words no family ever expects: stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer.
No symptoms. No family history. No warning. Life instantly shifted from preparing for new life to fighting to save Alex’s.

A Glimmer of Hope
For a time, we had reason to hope. Alex was approved for a cutting-edge immunotherapy drug called Dostarlimab. The early signs were encouraging, we thought we might have finally turned a corner. But cancer doesn't always follow the plan. Despite everything, it returned and spread further.

Digging Deeper and Leaning on Faith
Through every setback, Alex never gave up. He’s thrown himself into research, learned every option, challenged doctors, and opened his heart to God in ways that have completely transformed his life. A pilgrimage to Medjugorje deepened his faith even more, giving him peace and focus through it all.

A Door We Walked Through
Alex was accepted into a highly selective treatment program at Immunocine in Cancún, Mexico, a cutting-edge immunotherapy designed specifically for patients like him.
Only 15 percent of applicants are accepted, and Alex was one of them.
Because of the generosity and support surrounding our family, he was able to pursue that opportunity and receive this advanced care. It was a step we prayed for and one we will always be grateful he was able to take.

Where We Stand Today
This journey has taken our family down roads we never expected, and each season has required courage in different ways.
Today, our focus is on supporting Alex fully and intentionally. We are choosing presence, faith, and togetherness. Every day matters, and we are walking it side by side as a family.
We remain deeply grateful for the community that has carried us. Your prayers, messages, and encouragement continue to mean more than words can express.
